Tips for people seeking a spouse

Are you getting married for the right causes? If not, wait in order to benefit both you and your future spouse. No haste is necessary when getting married. Take a break to reflect if you feel pressure to be married (from your spouse, your family, or society). To better understand yourself, attend pre-marriage counseling. If you catch yourself saying, “Well, if it doesn’t work out, I can always get a divorce,” stop what you’re doing and take a step back. Because our ALLAH (SWT) detests divorce, entering into a marriage should only be done after complete commitment.

Tip #1

Don’t let disagreements ruin the finest day of your life. As you finalize the details of your wedding, step back and take a deep breath whenever you feel tensions rising. And speak with your partner about it. It’s a collaboration, not a rivalry. The beginning of your life together with the person you love is the wedding. Do not become anxious over the prospect of your wedding day being perfect. Invite your close family and friends to attend your wedding.

Tip #2

Never attempt to mold your partner into the person you hope they will become. Keep in mind that your personality, upbringing, and lifestyle are significantly different from that of the other person. As you age together, developing the art of practicing acceptance will be helpful.

Tip #3

Any marriage may encounter problems with money. What about spending? A House help? Do you make and follow a budget? Do you reserve a specific portion of your income each month for an emergency (or vacation) fund? Before getting married and beginning to combine assets, ask your future spouse how they handle their money and make sure you both feel comfortable with each other’s spending and saving tendencies.

Tip #4

Alhamdulillah, as Muslims, we often live with our families until we find a home. Moving in together is one of the steps to marriage, and this is where the difference is. It will take some getting used to living with your in-laws or in a two-person household. That’s entirely typical and doesn’t disprove your compatibility. How can this transition be as seamless as possible? Communicate. Work on your space before you move in together, per premarital advice. What kind of workspace requirements do you all have? At-home gym? TV area? Do either of you moving into someone else’s home or moving to a completely different location make sense? Have a clear plan in place because doing so will.

Tip #5

Females in our society get highly anxious and agitated as a result of sexual life. Talking to your close friends who are married or your close cousin’s sister who can assist you in this process would be excellent. Additionally crucial is speaking with your doctor.
